Notice of Request for Annexation Public Hearing, July 13, 2023

The public will take notice that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Southport has called a Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. on July 13, 2023 at the Community Building located at 223 E. Bay Street to discuss the possible annexation of the following described property requested by petition filed pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-31:

Lot 1: Being all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Smithville Township, Brunswick County and being bound on the N011h by (now or formerly) The Landing at Southpo11 Community as recorded in Brunswick County registry in deed book 1419, at page 973 and bound to the Northeast by (now or formerly) Deng Yongli as recorded in Brunswick County registry in deed book 4539, at page 915, and being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at an existing iron on the North Western comer of the Deng Yongli Tract, said iron also being N011h 35°33’1 I II West 300.08′ from an existing nail set near the center line of Lookout Point Drive; thence leaving said iron and running South 30°13’5911 East 258.42′ to an existing iron along the Lookout Point Drive Right-of-way , passing an iron at 251.39′; thence curving with said Right-of-way with a chord bearing of South 29°44’1211 West, a chord distance of 104.69′, and a radius of 50′ to an existing iron; thence leaving said Right-of-Way and running South 59°45’1411 West, 50′, to an existing iron; thence running No11h 30°13’5911 West 30 I. 77′ to an existing iron; thence running North 59°46′ I I II East 124.94 ‘to an existing iron, said iron being the point of beginning and containing 0.793 acres. 

Lot 2: Being all that ce11ain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Smithville Township, Brunswick County and being bound on the East (now or formerly) Paris Metro, LLC as recorded in Brunswick County registry in deed book 3561, at page 933 and bound to the South by the Cape Fear River and being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at an existing iron on the N011h Western comer of the Paris Metro, LLC Tract, said iron also being on the Southern Right-of-Way to Look Out Point Dr.; thence leaving the Lookout Point Drive Right-of-Way and running South 30°13’5911 East 502.40′ to the Mean High Water line of the Cape Fear River, passing an iron at 423.54′; Thence running along the Mean High Water line of the Cape Fear River, South 52°47’5911 West 125.87′ to a computed point; thence leaving the Mean High Water line of the Cape fear River and running North 30°13’59” East 560.97 to an existing iron; Thence running North 59°45’1411 East 50.00′ to an existing iron falling along the Right-of-Way of Lookout Point Drive; thence curving with said Right-of-Way with a chord bearing of North 89°4 7’0311 East, a chord distance of I 04.67′, and a radius of 50′ to an existing iron, said i􀀩·on being the point of beginning and containing I .515 acres.

This property is also identified as 6240 and 6245 Lookout Point Drive. The parent parcel number is 23800004.
