Proposed Parks Ordinance Amendment
The Board of Aldermen is considering an amendment to the Parks and Recreation ordinance in the Code of Ordinances. The amendment makes the following changes:
- All City parks would close at dusk
- Defines public property
- Prohibits all camping and sleeping
- Explains penalties and enforcement
Amending the ordinance will allow the Southport Police Department to better manage the loitering and overnight presence of people in the parks. Please use the link below to access the full proposed amendment.
