NEW CITY CLERK SELECTED
Southport, NC – The Board of Aldermen recently selected Sara Thomas to serve as City Clerk. Thomas began her tenure with the City on March 5, 2024, after previously serving as Paralegal for a prestigious Charlotte-based law firm. Thomas began her career as a Clerk in Seven Devils, NC and has served across North Carolina, settling in Brunswick County in 2021.
Sara Thomas moves into the City Clerk position after previous City Clerk, Dorothy Dutton was promoted to Assistant City Manager in October 2022. Dutton continued to serve as Clerk until Thomas’ selection.
Thomas states that she is excited to be joining the City of Southport team and looks forward to continuing to make progress on current and future projects.
