The City of Southport is currently seeking someone to serve as a Commissioner on the North Carolina Eastern Municipality Power Agency (NCEMPA).

A Commissioner must be diligent, reliable, discrete, and pragmatic. Some of the duties of the Commissioners include:

  • Adopting the NCEMPA annual budget
  • Electing Directors to the Board of Directors
  • Discussing/Adopting wholesale rates
  • Discussing and Accepting any debt

The Commissioners also help the Board of Directors set policies and direction.
