Call for Visitors’ Center Volunteers! We’re looking for more helping hands and smiling faces!

The Fort Johnston – Southport Museum & Visitors’ Center is offering an opportunity for individuals interested in becoming volunteers.  Join our elite team of Southport Ambassadors, meet new people, and make new friends.  Our volunteers represent the City of Southport and Department of Tourism by showcasing the values, heritage, culture, and natural beauty Southport has to offer. 

 The interpreting services of Fort Johnston – Southport Museum & Visitors’ Center is seeking volunteers to greet guests as they enter the Museum/ Visitor Center, provide orientation to visitors, inspire an understanding and appreciation for the rich heritage of Southport and offer insight into our Museum exhibits.  Other responsibilities include counting daily visitation, answering telephone, operating a cash register, and providing customer service in the gift shop. The only requirement is a warm, professional public presence, and a customer-service orientation, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.  Training is provided.
