At a special Board of Aldermen meeting on March 24, 2025, the Board of Aldermen voted to send Resolution 25-2403.01 to the North Carolina General Assembly to review for the upcoming legislative cycle.

The resolution, entitled “RESOLUTION#25-2403.01, A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO HB 337 TO REMOVE CERTAIN DESCRIBED PROPERTY FROM THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SOUTHPORT,” requests that all members of the General Assembly to oppose HB 337 or any other de-annexation legislation.

The City of Southport Board of Aldermen urges residents and community members to contact Southport’s representatives and request that the General Assembly oppose HB 337.
