The team has completed work in the Park Ave sub-basin and has moved now to the 9th Street and Central sub-basins. You can view the map of work area below. This is a large area and they will be here for several weeks. The crew will transition on June 5, 2025, weather permitting..

The contractor performing the cleaning and camera inspections has adjusted the schedule and has started working in the Park Ave Lift Station Sub-basin. An updated map excerpt is below that shows the area that is the current work area.

Sewer System Maintenance – 9th Street & Central Lift Station Areas

Brunswick County Public Utilities Notice

Beginning May 13, 2025, Brunswick County Public Utilities will conduct cleaning and video inspection of the gravity sewer system in the 9th Street and Central Lift Station sub-basins. This work will be performed by Sweeping Corporation, a contractor for Brunswick County Public Utilities.

The affected areas are highlighted in orange on the overview map below. Work is expected to continue for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

No road closures are anticipated; however, there may be brief periods during equipment set-up or breakdown when portions of the roadway are temporarily blocked. The contractor will make every effort to maintain at least one open lane of traffic during operations.

Please note: This is not a City of Southport project. All work is being managed by Brunswick County Public Utilities.
