The City of Southport

Board of Aldermen Meetings

The City of Southport Board of Aldermen meet twice a month: first Monday at 9am and second Thursday at 6pm, respectively, each month.  The meetings are held in the Southport Community Building, 223 E. Bay Street. Meetings are also live-streamed here.

The City of Southport does not discriminate on the basis of disability. If you need an auxiliary aid or service or other accommodation to attend or fully participate at this meeting, please contact the Clerk’s office as far in advance of the meeting as possible so that your request can be considered.

An agenda packet is available for public viewing on the Monday before the Board of Aldermen meeting.  The packets are located at the City Clerk’s office in City Hall and at the Harper Library.

The Agenda can be found here.

If a meeting date falls on a holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled, and advertised in the State Port Pilot.

Click the link above to access BOA meeting agendas and associated documentation.

Meeting agendas will be available for download in the CivicClerk public portal tool on the Friday prior to each monthly meeting. The full meeting packets will be available on the Monday prior to each meeting.

If updates are made to the agenda or packet, there will be a 24-hour delay before the revised document is available in the portal. If you visit the public portal and there is no information listed for the upcoming meeting, that is likely the cause. If this happens to you, please reach out to City Clerk Dorothy Dutton for a copy of the information that you are seeking. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (910) 457-7900 ext. 1010 or [email protected]
