The Board of Aldermen has scheduled a Special Board Workshop for Monday, September 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Indian Trail Meeting Hall, located at 113 W. Moore Street.

The purpose of this meeting is to allow the Board of Aldermen to ask questions regarding the Up Your Arts proposal to use the Historic Courthouse at 201 E. Moore Street for a Community Arts Center. Up Your Arts representatives will present the following information to the Board of Aldermen:

1. A complete package of conceptual renderings by Lisle Architecture and Design
2. An overview of the building’s purpose and potential uses
3. A description of the plan we have envisioned for managing the project
4. An outline of the building blocks we see as necessary for formation of the center’s board of trustees

At this workshop, the Up Your Arts nonprofit is seeking input from the Board of Aldermen before moving forward with any plans.
