Revised City of Southport State of Emergency Proclamation
The City of Southport is in the recovery mode from Hurricane Isaias. Our damage assessment teams are out doing surveys. Many roads are blocked by down power lines, poles, and trees. Brunswick Electric is working to restore power. The Waterfront area received extensive damage, and the Southport Marina is closed due to damage assessment. The City remains under a curfew,until 7pm,
and we urge citizens to stay off the roads, due to safety concerns. The Emergency Operations Center is still activated, and calls and concerns can be handled by calling 910-457-7915.
