NOTICE OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING, November 29, 2022

The City of Southport Board of Adjustment has rescheduled the meeting and quasi-judicial hearing that was scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2022. The meeting and quasi-judicial hearing will take place on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. at the Indian Trail Meeting Hall, located at 113 W. Moore Street. The purpose of the meeting is to hold an evidentiary quasi-judicial hearing to consider an application for:

  • Special Use Permit: Accessory dwelling located at 310 Fire Fly Lane. The parcel is described as Lots 46 and 47 Price’s Creek. The size of the parcel is 0.28 acres (12,196.8 sf) and it is zoned PUD.

The contractor has submitted a site plan, application, and building plans for an Accessory Dwelling for the back left side of the property. The total heated square footage is 531.6, and includes a living area, kitchen, full bathroom, and a loft bedroom upstairs.  In addition, there is a porch and a golf cart garage, totaling 189 square feet, for a grand total of 721 square feet. The accessory dwelling will be approximately (average) 18.05 feet off the back property line (private alley); and approximately (average) 7.1 feet off the side property line. The approved setbacks for Price’s Creek Planned Unit Development are: 15 feet-Front; 5 feet-Rear; 6 feet-Side.
