SOUTHPORT POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS ARE RESPONDING TO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT AT WATERFRONT PARK
Southport, NC – Southport Police and Fire Department personnel are responding to Southport Waterfront Park, located at 101 W. Bay Street, Southport, at the scene of a motor vehicle accident. At this time, the details of the accident are that a vehicle breached the bulkhead and entered the Cape Fear River, becoming completing submerged. One injury has been reported and is being attended to. No names of those involved in the accident will be released at this time.
Officials are expecting the scene to be cleared by approximately 2:00am on September 25, 2023.
