The City of Southport is now accepting applications for three (3) vacancies on the Southport Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee: 3 positions from Ward I are available. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee consists of seven members. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., at 209 N. Atlantic Avenue. Interested applicants must be permanent residents from the above stated area.

The major functions of this committee are:
1. To develop an annual recreation program to accompany the
department’s budget request to the Board of Aldermen.
2. Develop a long-range recreation facilities plan.

Interested citizens should contact the City Clerk at 1029 N. Howe Street, to obtain an application.
