NOTICE OF SPECIAL CALLED JOINT WORKSHOP OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN AND THE PLANNING BOARD, March 30, 2023
The Board of Aldermen has scheduled a Special Joint Board Workshop for Thursday, March 30th, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Southport Community Building located at 223 E. Bay Street, Southport. Both the Board of Aldermen and the Planning Board will be in attendance for training with the City Attorney.
The purpose of this workshop is to review topics including, but not limited to:
- Making decisions based on the City’s ordinances, and NC laws
- Board roles and responsibilities
- Ethics for each Board
- Interacting with other Boards, Citizens, and Staff
- Administrative vs. Legislative vs. Advisory Decisions
The meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed, but there will be no public comment period.
