NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The public will take notice that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Southport has called a Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. on August 11, 2022, at the City of Southport Community Building located at 223 E. Bay Street to discuss the possible annexation of the following described properties requested by a petition filed pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-31:

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION OF A 36,834 SQUARE FOOT TRACT TO BE ANNEXED BY THE CITY OF SOUTHPORT, NORTH CAROLINA, MADE FROM LOTS 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 AND 10, BLOCK 7, SOUTHPORT HEIGHTS, MAP CABINET 14, PAGE 214, DEED BOOK 463, PAGE 804, BRUNSWICK COUNTY REGISTRY, BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA.
BEGINNING AT AN EXISTING IRON PIPE WHICH IS AT THE SOUTHEASTERN CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF W. 14TH STREET, A 60’ PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY, AND N. CASWELL AVENUE, AN 80’ PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. SAID EXISTING IRON PIPE IS THE NORTHWESTERN CORNER OF LOT 10, MAP BOOK 23 PAGE 152.
THENCE ALONG AND WITH THE SOUTHERN RIGHT-OF-WAY OF W. 14TH STREET N 69°23’31” E 122.77’ TO A REBAR SET. SAID REBAR IS THE NORTHEASTERN MOST CORNER OF LOT 10 AND IS A COMMON CORNER WITH LOT 11.
THENCE DEPARTING THE AFOREMENTIONED RIGHT-OF-WAY OF W. 14TH STREET AND ALONG AND WITH THE REAR LINES OF LOTS 5 THRU 10, MAP BOOK 23 PAGE 152. S 20°38’04” E 300.00’ TO A REBAR SET THE SOUTHEASTERN CORNER OF LOT 5 WHICH IS THE COMMON CORNER WITH LOT 4, MAP BOOK 14 PAGE 214
THENCE WITH THE COMMON LINE WITH LOT 4 S 69°21’56” W 122.77’ TO A REBAR SET ON THE WESTERN RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE AFOREMENTIONED N. CASWELL AVENUE.
THENCE WITH SAID RIGHT-OF-WAY N 20°38’04” W 300.06’ TO THE POINT AND PLACE OF BEGINNING CONTAINING 36,834 SQUARE FEET MORE OR LESS.
