NatureFest Lecture Series: Pretty and Beneficial, Pollinator gardens and the Bee City Program

Kate will discuss the basics of planting and maintaining a garden designed to support pollinators.  Kate helped establish the pollinator garden at the Lowe-White park in Southport and serves as the coordinator to maintain the garden. She will explain what pollinators are and their value to the ecosystem and human welfare. This lecture will touch on pollinator-appropriate plants, including ones native to our area.  Kate will also discuss the Bee City program and Southport’s involvement.
