A Salute to Love!
Bring your sweetheart and join us after dinner on Valentine’s Day 2020 for a musical salute to love with the Southport Chamber Players at 7pm in the sanctuary of Saint Peter Lutheran Church. The concert will be followed by coffee and dessert in the fellowship hall, featuring an array of catered sweets. A night for Cupid to remember!
Meet celebrated local musicians and cofounders of Southport Chamber Players: vocalists Lois Moore and Robert Marks, flutist Janet Porterfield, cellist John Illingworth, and Florence Aquilina on Saint Peter’s beautiful new grand piano. Area fans know, if you haven’t heard them in concert before, you will not want to miss this opportunity
The hour-long program includes light classical music selections with “romance in mind,” followed by scores from movies that made lovers easy to love –- think Titanic, Phantom of the Opera, Cinema Paradiso. Delightful after-concert refreshments are baked with love, so to speak, by Southport’s own Erin Kirley.
The special talents of Southport Chamber Players are donated February 14 in support of the Up Your Arts “Save the Hall, Y’all” campaign to renovate Southport’s former courthouse and city hall building into a community-based arts center. Proceeds will also benefit Saint Peter’s Make a Joyful Noise fund for music ministry.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Seating capacity is limited, so don’t delay! You can buy them online here or at four retail locations throughout Southport: Ricky Evans Gallery, Adventure Kayak, the Wine Rack, and Doc Meridian’s Winery.
