City of Southport Request for Qualifications: Space Needs Feasibility Study
The City of Southport is soliciting qualification submittals from interested firms to provide professional services for a space needs study and facility-related evaluations for the City of Southport Police Department and Town Hall Administration.
The current City Hall and Police Department staff share a two-story building originally designed as a public sector multi-business facility. The Police Department is housed in approximately 1800 square feet of the second floor of the 10,008 square foot building. The City Hall staff occupies the remaining portion of the second floor and the entire first floor. The Police Department moved from a small modified single-story temporary building to the second-floor location which is currently occupied. Neither location was designed nor intended for police facilities.
The City is seeking to work with a firm to engage in two major elements of development. 1) Analyze the City’s current Police Department facilities and space needs and develop a strategic plan to support current and future needs, as well as inventory possible locations. 2) Analyze the City Hall facilities space needs and develop a strategic plan for the renovation of the current building with City offices.
Firms interested in being considered for this work should submit their qualifications to:
