Zoning Map Amendment Public Hearing

The public will take notice that the Southport Board of Aldermen will meet on Thursday,
December 13, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at the Southport Community Building, located at 223
E. Bay Street for the purpose of holding a public hearing on:

Zoning Map Amendment

R-20 to PUD
(RZ-18-1010-01)

A voluntary zoning map amendment that would amend the City of Southport’s zoning
map by rezoning the above property on Robert Ruark Drive in the Extraterritorial
Jurisdiction. The property would be rezoned from Residential Agricultural District (Single
Family District with 20,000 sf minimum lots) to Planned Unit Development Distirct (A
special district where multiple residential and commerical uses may be proposed and
density and lot dimensions may be different in a trade-off for significant decdication of
open space, alternative housing types, and affordable development). The total acreage
of the property to be rezoned is 68 acres.
