June 1st is a Big Day in Southport!

Per Mayor Hatem’s recent announcement, several hallmark events that reflect a “Steady as She Goes” return to normalcy in Southport will begin this month!

On Tuesday, June 1st, Southport City Hall will re-open to the public. You will now be able to come in take care of your city business in person. Our wonderful staff is looking forward to seeing you again!

The Ft. Johnston – Southport Museum and Visitors’ Center will also re-open to the public on June 1st. Please come by and explore the museum and say hello to our friendly volunteers.

The Southport Summer Market opens at 8:00 am on Wednesday, June 2nd under the beautiful canopy of oak trees at Franklin Square Park.

The Southport Summer Concert Series kicks off on Thursday, June 3rd – also at Franklin Square.

The Southport Movies on the Lawn will begin on Friday, June 11th at dusk on the Ft. Johnston Garrison Lawn.

The Southport Board of Aldermen Meetings will now be open to full capacity seating for in-person attendance at the Community Building. They will continue to be live-streamed as well.

We’ve come this far by protecting ourselves and one another. Thanks to the Southport community staying the course with public health measures, these are just highlights of the many ways that we are moving forward in a safe and positive way.
