A Queen, a Prince and a Sorceress… What Could Possibly Go Wrong? 

UNC-Wilmington Opera Outreach Program (WOOPS!) proudly returns to Southport to share an in-depth look at the epic tragedy of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.  Based on Virgil’s Aeneid, Dido and Aeneas is the tale of love between the Queen of Carthage and a Trojan Prince, and the Sorceress who toys with their fates.  Professor Nancy King will set the scene, with live operatic examples by her talented students, accompanied by Dr. Bettsy Curtis.

Sunday, March 1st from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Southport Community Center, 223 E. Bay St., Southport.
Reception to follow. This event is free and open to the public.
