Summertime Activities

Through music, art, and history, your child will be introduced to the maritime world in a fun and engaging way. All programs are subject to NC state taxes, 10% Family Membership and above discount applies. Registration closes the day prior at 5pm!

Quartermasters: 10am – 1pm, Ages 13 – 17, $15 NEW

• June 15: Maritime Tragedies
  Dive deep into the shipwrecks and natural disasters, as well as how we prevent them. Ride out to Oak Island Lighthouse in the museum van and climb to the top for some magnificent views!
• July 20: Navigation
  How did we get around before GPS on our cell phones? Learn the many ways sailors navigated their way through the water. Create your very own nautical chart to show off.
• August 17: Preservation & Conservation
  Learn how natural and cultural organizations preserve artifacts for future generations and the steps taken to protect our oceans. Brainstorm ways we can do our part to preserve and conserve the world we live in.
