City of Southport to Receive State Funding
for Infrastructure Improvements

It has been announced that the City of Southport will receive funding from the North Carolina State Budget which will provide resources for waterfront stabilization and for the paving of Howe Street.

This two-year budget will be signed into law by Governor Cooper. These funds were obtained by the collaborative efforts of Senator Bill Rabon and Representative Charles Miller.

City of Southport Mayor, Joe Pat Hatem stated, “I appreciate the multiple conversations and communication our state legislators have had with me on this and other issues. I look forward to our continued working relationship and I thank them for their leadership and advocacy for Southport.“
