City of Southport Request for Proposals: Qualified Flooring Companies

The City of Southport Community Building (Community Building) invites qualified firms to submit proposals for the provision of flooring repair and upgrade and design services (Services).

The Community Building’s current flooring is made of a cherry wood and is over twenty (20) years old. The flooring has been sanded down multiple times due to years of scratching the surface. At this point we have been instructed that the floor is to be replaced, rather than sanded again, as nail heads will begin to appear.

The Community Building is the main building for monthly Aldermen meetings, as well as the host for weddings and other miscellaneous events. Combined, this building sees roughly two hundred (200) events a year with a maximum capacity of two hundred (200) people at each event.

We will need a commercial grade flooring that can withstand this heavy traffic.
We are a fan of the lighter coloring of the current floor, and we would like to color match the cherry, or if that is unavailable, a lighter color to keep the building a neutral canvas for events.

Proposers are required to attend a Pre-Proposal meeting at the Community Building, located at 223 E. Bay St., Southport, NC 28461. This meeting can be scheduled at your convenience but no later than November 20,, 2022.
